Contractor Leads Weekly
Week of 7-13-2026
THE SPEED WINS WEEK
One of the biggest advantages a small contractor has over a larger company isn't price.
It's speed.
Customers don't just hire the best contractor.
They often hire the first professional contractor.
This week's mission is to become the contractor that responds faster than everyone else.
OBJECTIVE
This week you'll improve how quickly you respond to leads and how quickly you deliver estimates.
By Friday you should be able to:
Respond to every new lead within 15 minutes whenever possible.
Schedule estimates faster.
Deliver estimates within 24 hours.
Close more jobs simply by being easier to work with.
STEP 1 — TIME YOURSELF
The next five inquiries you receive...
Start a timer.
How long does it actually take you to:
✔ Return the call?
✔ Send the text?
✔ Respond to Facebook?
✔ Reply to the email?
Most contractors are slower than they think.
STEP 2 — CREATE THREE SAVED RESPONSES
Write three messages and save them in your phone.
Example:
New Lead
"Thanks for reaching out! I appreciate the opportunity. I'll give you a call shortly so we can discuss your project."
Missed Call
"Sorry I missed your call. I'm with a customer right now, but I'll call you back as soon as I'm finished."
Estimate Follow-Up
"I've sent your estimate over. Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to discuss the project."
Typing less means responding faster.
STEP 3 — QUOTE FASTER
Don't let estimates sit on your desk.
Set a goal.
Every estimate leaves within 24 hours.
Customers lose confidence when they wait several days.
STEP 4 — ANSWER THE PHONE
If you can't...
Call back immediately.
Many customers simply move on to the next contractor.
STEP 5 — MAKE IT EASY TO HIRE YOU
When someone says yes...
Don't create extra steps.
Have a simple process ready.
Examples:
✔ Electronic invoice
✔ Deposit link
✔ Start date
✔ Confirmation text
The easier you make it...
The more jobs you'll close.
STEP 6 — TRACK IT
Write down:
Lead received:
Response sent:
Estimate delivered:
Job won?
At the end of the week you'll know exactly where you're losing time.
THIS WEEK'S LESSON
You don't always lose jobs because of price.
Sometimes you lose because another contractor answered the phone first.
Or delivered the estimate first.
Or simply communicated better.
Speed builds confidence.
BONUS CHALLENGE
This week...
Call every missed call back.
Even if it's from three or four days ago.
Some people are still looking.
DO NOT THIS WEEK
❌ Wait until the end of the day to return calls.
❌ Tell yourself "I'll send that estimate tomorrow."
❌ Ignore missed calls because you're busy.
❌ Make customers wonder if you're interested.
EXPECTED RESULTS
By the end of the week you should have:
✓ Faster response times.
✓ Faster estimates.
✓ More professional communication.
✓ A higher close rate.
FINAL THOUGHT
Customers expect contractors to be slow.
When you're the one who responds first, communicates clearly, and follows through quickly, you've already separated yourself from a large part of the competition.
Sometimes the easiest way to get more jobs isn't finding more leads.
It's doing a better job with the ones you already have.
